Contour is an immersive
body of artwork that focuses upon predominately performative drawing,
therapeutic practice and queer world building. The project is an open studio
workshop called a ‘Atelier’ that showcases the process of the type of
performance drawing within a classroom setting. The project is made – up of a
series of A2 paintings/drawings using gouache paint, squirrel hair - brushes
and Ivory Fabriano: Rosaspina printmaking paper 285gsm, 70x50cm. These have
been displayed through a variety of ways onto two print racks, taped onto the
wall using low tack tape and on two small display easels. Rosaspina is a type of printmaking paper,
specifically known for its use in various techniques like etching, lithography,
and screen printing. A short – film which runs for twelve minutes and displayed
upon a seventy-two-inch television screen. A projection of an image of a
painting onto ruby textured mount board on the venue wall. Finally, a table
which includes a variety of pens, pencils and paper for the workshop
demonstration.
